Olive Oil
Our olives are harvested by hand from April to June, they are pressed within 24 hours and blended to our Bakenshoogte olive oil known for its fresh, green grassy smell and aromatic peppery taste.
Bakenshoogte olive oil is classified as an extra virgin olive oil according to all set standards, i.e.
* Free Fatty acid <= 0.8 (Bakenshoogte oil is 0.16)
* Peroxide value <= 20 (Bakenshoogte oil is 6.5)
Our oil was rewarded a double gold at the SA Olive Awards in 2011. We received another gold medal for our oil in the intense category at the SA Olive Awards in 2012. In 2013 we again received a gold medal, and was nominated for the ABSA Top 5 olive oils in the country!
The oil is bottled on our premises in elegant 375ml glass bottles, or in 1 Litre, and 5 Litre tin cans. In addition, oil can be purchased on the farm/deli in other quantities by bringing and filling your own container.
